From "Measure for Measure"

"Man, proud man,
Dressed in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he's most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape,
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As makes the angels weep."

Shakespeare

There Are Angels Among Us

No one knows the soul of another except sometimes when one sees in a particular individual (whether rich or poor) a great...but perhaps even unnoticed...contributor to the higher good and who makes a difference because he or she is on this earth. No matter where we go every day, we bump into these individuals and seldom know their names. We must never discriminate against someone because they are poor or may appear to have nothing to offer. For we never know if "an angel on earth" is the person we see living out of a car...homeless and hungry. ~ Patty Ann Smith

"What Do You Say?"

I wrote this song to shine some light on the pain and suffering of those who have lost everything, and are homeless, hungry and need medical attention.

"Give me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses Yearning To Be Free."

We cannot change some of the circumstances of our lives....but we do have the defiant power of the human spirit that makes us able to rise above those circumstances to which we feel victims. ~ Viktor Frankl

What "Life" Expects.....From Us

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life - daily and hourly. Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." ~ Viktor E. Frankl

"How blue is the sea, how blue is the sky,
how blue and tiny and redeemable everything is, even you,
even your eyes, even your imagination." ~ Mary Oliver

Seriously

"At least two-thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity: idealism, dogmatism and proselytyzing zeal on behalf of religious or political ideas." ~ Aldous Huxley

More.....or Less

More of what is safe and good for the planet and humans.....Less of what isn't!

Our own well-being is in direct correlation to the well-being of our planet's ecosystems.

We Need More Humility

We are all handicapped in some way or another. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Humility is a "good" thing.

Hafiz ~ Sufi Master

Hafiz is a poet who died centuries ago and, today, is still loved by so many. For them, Hafiz poems transcend the humdrum of the present and offer hope for the future. Many of his words are not to be taken literally but to be taken for the joyful feeling that his lilting words convey. His gift was, and still is, to lift spirits and give hope.

Even
After
All this time
The sun never says to the earth,

"You owe
Me."

Look
What happens
With a love like that,
It lights the
Whole
Sky.

~ Hafiz
